Surgical Services Services

At St. Cloud Regional Medical Center, we offer a variety of services including General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Urological Surgery, Orthopaedic and Gynecological Surgery. The Department of Surgical Services at St. Cloud Regional Medical Center encompasses five areas of service to the Surgical Customer. After registering with the 'One Call Scheduling' department, the customer will be given an appointment to see the Preoperative nurse specialist. This appointment is scheduled 2 days prior to the scheduled procedure.

The Preoperative nurse specialist will assist the customer in performing the necessary testing, and assessments ordered by the customer's physician. The customer will then be informed of all expectations regarding time of arrival, pre surgery prep, and post procedure education. On the day of the procedure, the patient will report to the Out Patient Surgery area located at the West Wing of the hospital. There the outpatient staff will prepare the patient for the procedure as well  ask the patient for specific information such as having the patient identify their name, the procedure, the physician, and then will assist the staff in marking their 'site' in accordance to the National Patient Safety Goals.

Immediately after the procedure, the patient will be transferred to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. In this area, your pain will be managed, and you will be monitored to assure safe recovery from the Anesthesia medications. If the patient is scheduled to be discharged home, they will be returned to the Same Day Care area for final instructions and will be discharged from this area. If they are to be admitted to the Hospital, they will be assigned a room and transferred to the appropriate area once their condition is stable.

It is our goal to provide each customer with individualized, safe, professional care. You may contact us at (407) 498-3647. We look forward to serving you, and most of all, we appreciate your business.
