St. Cloud Regional Awards Associate, Nurse, Director, & Volunteer of the Quarter

St. Cloud, FL (January 18, 2012) -  St. Cloud Regional Medical Center is proud to announce its quarterly award winners.  These winners were nominated by their peers for their outstanding commitment to delivering quality, compassionate service.   

The current Associate of the Quarter is Vanessa Schafer.  Vanessa is an Admitting Clerk with Registration and has been with St. Cloud Regional since 2010. Vanessa goes above and beyond whether she is working with patients, coworkers, or guests.  She takes the initiative to proactively solve problems.  She has even created new tools and forms for her team to function more effectively.  Her genuine compassion for others shines through when she interacts with patients.  Vanessa is a real treasure to the hospital team.   

The Nurse of the Quarter is Joseph (Joe Bob) Pearce.  Joe Bob is a Nurse in the Emergency Department has been with St. Cloud Regional since 2009.  His lighthearted humor and interest in the well-being of others helps to make him a natural team motivator.  Patients’ reactions to Joe Bob give testament not only his clinical talent but also his interpersonal skills.  He has that special touch in patient care that takes a nurse from being merely qualified to being exemplary.   

The Director of the Quarter is André Roldan.  André is the Director of Environmental Services and has been with St. Cloud Regional for 3 years.  He is a Director who is never too busy and who goes the extra mile to please.  Co-workers know that André does not put anything or anyone on the “back burner.”  He takes the initiative to help not only in his department but also in every area of the hospital.  André is a key driver in patient and associate satisfaction.  He leads a strong team dedicated to delivering quality, which is a reflection of his own work ethic.   

The Volunteer of the Quarter is Robert Leavitt.  Robert is a Chaplain in the Spiritual Care Department at St. Cloud Regional and has been volunteering his services for over a year.  He understands the important role he plays in the spiritual needs of patients, their families, and associates.  His team recognizes him as driven and highly motivated to help in the healing process.  Robert’s devotion to excellence and generous spirit make him a joy to work with and a model spiritual care-giver.  He truly cares about each patient and wants each one to receive the best care possible.
